FIRST WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Organized by Arno and the network of youth organizations Y-PEER Macedonia with the support of the UNFPA office in Skopje was held the first of a series of workshops titled “Advocacy to provide a better platform within the ministries and state institutions for better cooperation with youth NGOs as part of the estimates for Sexual and Reproductive Health.”

“Representatives of over 9 youth NGOs have discussed the better alignment of their activities, particularly to strengthen their advocacy capacity in implementing youth-referring policies.

3 WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

 

The workshops were held on the 4th and 5th of July, 2017, in the Public Room, Skopje.

Representatives of more than 11 youth organizations discussed to strengthen their capacity to plan and implement peer education, as well as the new Sustainable Development, United Nations Development Program (CSD) and the deployment of a new agenda for development of the United Nations Millennium Development equality for all.

The two workshops also discussed the participation of young people in all processes and at all levels.

In terms of gender equality, the third workshop presented the approach of gender transformation programs, with participants who have the opportunity to gain knowledge and theoretical information, and discuss the specific activities of the upcoming ARNO and Y-PEER Macedonia campaign. Participants concluded that it is necessary to work more closely towards equally involving everyone, with particular emphasis on the involvement of young people and boys in gender equality.

Cooperation with institutions

On September 7th, in Skopje, a youth workshop titled “INCREASING THE PARTICIPATION OF YOUTH IN DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES AND COOPERATION WITH INSTITUTIONS” was held. Through this activity, young people had the opportunity to be informed about the ongoing processes within the UN development agenda and youth participation. Invited to the seminar was Mrs. Sanja Zografska Krsteska as a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia.

Conference

ARNO and Y-PEER in Macedonia, organized the conference “Youth, Peace and Security” on the 5th and 6th of October. 20 young people attended the conference from different cities in Macedonia who learned about peace concepts, the United Nations Development Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (CSRs). The purpose of this conference was to provide young people with insight into peace-building approaches through youth organizations initiatives involving teenagers and marginalized youth.
