“Activating Rural Youth through Entrepreneurship” is a project coordinated by the NGO La Sabina de El Bonillo from Spain in partnership with NGOs coming from Macedonia, Albania, Poland, Romania, Greece, Serbia and Lithuania. This Project is funded by the European Commission, Erasmus+ Programme. The Training was held 6-13 May, Alcaraz-Spain. ARNO’s representatives were: Antonio Gjorgjievski, Anjeza Gorenci and Aleksandar Miloshevikj (participants) and Vladimir Petkovski (Trainer).

Aim of the training course, developed in close cooperation of partners, is to contribute to fighting youth unemployment and to foster the use of entrepreneurship as a tool for youth development in youth-work, as a tool leading to youth empowerment, activating inactive youth, and developing life learning competencies that young people, including young people with fewer opportunities, can actively use for their personal and professional development.

According many studies, through entrepreneurship education, young people learn organizational skill, including time management, leadership development and interpersonal skills. It means highly transferable skills sought by employers. Moreover, other positives aspects of entrepreneurship are improved academic performance, school attendance, increased problem – solving and decision making abilities, improved interpersonal relationships, teamwork, public speaking skills and enhanced social psychological development (self-esteem).
